Memorial Tree Program
The EPF offers a variety of ways to improve the Park. One of the most important ways to do so is by commemorating the Community that lives, works, and plays around it. Placing a Memorial Tree or Bench is one way to remember a loved one, continue a beautiful historic tradition, and leave their legacy for future generations to know and love.
Memorial Trees
Almost all of the trees in the Park today exist because of previous donors who wanted to ensure that the Park was as beautiful as it was functional. You can see a map of historical donors here or at City Hall on a hand-drawn rendering.
Today, we continue this tradition. Donors can plant a tree in honor of a loved one or for a special occasion, such as wedding, anniversary, retirement or birthday. Your gift will replace lost trees and ensure the ecological health and beauty of the Park.
Memorial Donations can be made any time during the year, but trees will be planted twice yearly—Spring (late April/early May) and Fall (November). Planting and regular watering over the first season of growth will be provided by the Park Board and/or city employees.
Each tree will be distinguished with a special plaque, and listed on the Memorial Tree Registry on our website. You may also choose to adopt an existing tree that holds special meaning to you.
Memorial trees start at $250 and up (depending on species) and adopted trees are $100.

Park Bench
Imagine strolling hand in hand with your loved one, moving with a purposeful stride through the Park to your ‘special place’—the bench you always sit on to watch the grandchildren play, to listen to the chatter of happy birds, to feel the warm sun on your face.
Donating a Memorial Bench not only provides a beautiful way to honor a memory, or celebrate a life event, it provides a resting place for all visitors to the Park.
Memorial benches will be in line with the park design aesthetic and placed permanently in strategic locations. Each Memorial bench will include an honorary plaque for your special dedication.
